MSCDEX stands for Microsoft CD Extensions, and is the piece of software that talks to your CD drive.
Naturally, the faster MSCDEX runs, the better the overall response from your system. That's why Microsoft release updates to this important driver from time to time.
Included on this CD-Rom is the very latest update, MSCDEX version 2.23. Clicking the Run button below will install the new driver on your system, in its own directory, and update AUTOEXEC.BAT. You will need to reboot your machine afterwards.
